5 Simple Tips To Check When Your Boiler is Not Working

5 Simple Tips To Check When Your Boiler is Not Working

"Save money and use our Top Tips before calling out a heating engineer"

At least once in our lifetime, every one of us faces a problem of boiler breakdown or boiler acting up. So what should you do first?

1. Check Basic things:

If you have a prepayment meter installed in your home, then you should first check for the available credit in it. If it seems OK, you should check for other gas appliances for their working conditions to verify if there is gas going to the property... Soon after that, you may need to check the fuse box to see if there is a tripped switch?

2. Recent Power Cut Down Issue:

If you had suffered a power cut recently, then you might need to reprogram your boiler’s time clock. Sometimes a power cut will cause resetting of the boiler’s timer, so it might be your case as well. You can check the time clocks instruction manual and reprogram it for use.

3. Inspect/Check Boiler’s Pressure Gauge:

If the pressure of your boiler is less than 1 bar, then that could be the reason for boiler operation failure. You can adjust the boiler pressure using the instructions in the boiler manual.

4. Adjust Room Thermostat:

If your room thermostat is set below 21 degrees, then this could be the reason behind the issue. To fix this, simply increase the room temperature to above 21 degrees using the thermostat and then check if the boiler is working again or not?

5. Reset Boiler:

And finally, you need to reset your boiler with the help of the boiler manual or guide. For pre-2004 boilers, look for the pilot light status. If it is OFF, check the instruction manual for getting its status back to ON. For post-2004 models, use the reset button or dial for resetting your boiler

If these simple tips don’t work for you, then you can call us for help in fixing your boiler. Our engineer will fix your boiler quickly. It is always advised to do the regular maintenance of the boiler to reduce chances of breakdown and for it to operate safely
